Professor Thierry Baubet has extensive expertise in psychiatry, child and adolescent mental health, psychotraumatology, transcultural psychiatry, migration, and health inequalities affecting vulnerable populations. His work focuses on improving access to culturally sensitive, patient-centred mental healthcare for refugees, migrants, and socially disadvantaged groups experiencing complex psychological and social challenges.
Within the VOICE project, his expertise will contribute to a deeper understanding of barriers to care, health inequalities, trauma exposure, and the influence of social and cultural determinants on access to mental health services. His interdisciplinary and systems-oriented perspective will support the development of inclusive, equitable, and context-sensitive approaches to early identification, intervention, and care pathways for vulnerable children and adolescents across diverse healthcare and educational settings.

Professor Thierry Baubet is a leading international expert in child and adolescent psychiatry, psychotraumatology, transcultural psychiatry, migration, and mental health inequalities. He serves as Head of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychopathology, General Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine at Avicenne Hospital (AP-HP), Professor at Université Sorbonne Paris Nord and Inserm, Director of the Paris North Regional Psychotrauma Centre, and Head of the Seine-Saint-Denis Medical-Psychological Emergency Unit.
He has extensive experience leading multidisciplinary and international collaborations focused on psychological trauma, refugee and migrant health, access to mental healthcare, and culturally sensitive care pathways. Throughout his career, he has coordinated and contributed to numerous research, educational, clinical, and public health initiatives aimed at improving mental health outcomes and reducing social and health inequalities among vulnerable populations.
