Gérard Shadili will contribute clinical expertise in child and adolescent psychiatry, trauma-informed care, addictive behaviours, and early intervention for vulnerable young people. He will support the adaptation and implementation of the VOICE intervention within the French context, contribute to stakeholder engagement and referral pathway development, and provide expertise on the identification and support of adolescents experiencing trauma-related distress, adverse childhood experiences, and associated mental health difficulties. He will also contribute to the evaluation of strategies aimed at improving access to mental health care and specialist services and support the integration of VOICE activities within the French child and adolescent mental health care pathway through his collaboration with the Paris-Saclay clinical team.

Gérard Shadili is a child and adolescent psychiatrist and researcher with extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of adolescents with complex mental health needs, including trauma, borderline personality disorder, eating disorders, self-harm, suicidality, and addictive behaviours. His work focuses on vulnerable young people and improving pathways to appropriate care through integrated and multidisciplinary approaches. He has contributed to research on childhood maltreatment, sexual abuse, psychological distress, and adolescent psychiatric outcomes, all of which are highly relevant to the objectives of the VOICE project. His expertise will strengthen the project's capacity to identify barriers to care, develop effective referral pathways, and support the implementation of trauma-informed approaches in school and community settings.

Gérard Shadili currently works within the Department of Adolescent and Young Adult Psychiatry at the Institut Mutualiste Montsouris, one of France's leading centres for adolescent mental health care. From September 2026, Dr. Shadili will join the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department at the Hospital of the University of Paris-Saclay, where he will work alongside Professor Olivier Bonnot. His appointment will further strengthen the French team's expertise and contribute to the implementation and evaluation of VOICE within the French healthcare context.
