Elizabeth Gold is a specialist physician and Medical Lead (MLA) at the Child Protection Team at Uppsala University Hospital. Her clinical and research work focuses on childhood trauma, child maltreatment, and the health and wellbeing of children and adolescents in vulnerable situations, particularly children placed in out-of-home care. She has extensive experience in identifying and assessing children exposed to adversity, abuse, neglect, and other adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), as well as in coordinating care across healthcare, social services, and other child welfare actors.

 Within the VOICE project, her expertise is highly relevant to the early identification of trauma-related distress and the development of effective referral pathways for children and adolescents at risk. She will contribute knowledge on trauma-informed approaches, safeguarding procedures, interagency collaboration, and strategies to improve access to appropriate mental health support for vulnerable young people.
